Taking a week before I start my new job to get back into botanical illustration. I work at the Phipps COnservatory and their orchid and bonsai show started on the 17th. I was able to collect a few specimens that fell off while preparing for the show.
As I lay in this exact spot I can hear the dripping of the rain travel the gap between the gutter at the top of the roof to the gutter below and in this moment I realize its that sound I will miss the most. That sound that I can only hear from this exact spot. Just a tiny moment that I will always hold in my heart. Like the smell of the dark coffee in the morning on a sunday when you roll out of bed to the sound of the news in the living room. One of those moments you will never forget. One of those moments where you know you are exactly where you are ment to be.
